What is Holy Week?

Holy Week is the most sacred week of the year for Christians—a time set apart to reenter the story of Jesus’ final days on earth, from His triumphant entry into Jerusalem to His death and resurrection. As part of the Church calendar, Holy Week grounds us in the Gospel and invites us to remember, reflect, and respond. It helps form the rhythm of our faith, shaping us year after year as we follow Jesus.

As we disciple new believers and raise our children in the ways of God, Holy Week becomes a vital tool—drawing us into the heart of the Gospel and pointing us to the hope we have in Christ.

We invite you to join us for this meaningful week at Seeds Church.

Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week and commemorates Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem. As crowds waved palm branches and shouted “Hosanna,” they welcomed Him as King—yet many did not understand the kind of Kingdom He came to bring.

We celebrate Palm Sunday to remember that Jesus is our promised Savior and humble King. It’s a moment to reflect on His journey to the cross and to prepare our hearts for the week ahead. As a church family, it helps us anchor our lives in the story of Jesus and pass on this powerful truth to the next generation.

The Seder meal, also known as Passover, is a sacred tradition that remembers God’s deliverance of His people from slavery in Egypt. The Seder points to the ultimate deliverance through Christ, our Passover Lamb, whose body was broken and blood was shed for our salvation.

By observing the Seder, we connect with the roots of our faith, see the richness of God’s redemptive plan, and deepen our understanding of the Last Supper Jesus shared with His disciples. It’s a powerful way to teach our families, disciple new believers, and remember that our God is faithful to save.

Childcare for birth-kindergarten will be available. 1st-graders and up can participate with their parents.

Good Friday is the day we remember the suffering and crucifixion of Jesus. Our Tenebrae service—Latin for "darkness"—is a reflective, Scripture-filled gathering where we journey through the events of that day and the weight of what Christ endured on our behalf.

Through readings, worship, and the gradual extinguishing of light, we sit in the sorrow of the cross, not rushing to Easter, but letting our hearts fully grasp the cost of our redemption. It’s a sacred space to deepen our faith, disciple others in the way of the cross, and remember the depth of God’s love.
